The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has tapped Viptela and Inbox Business Technologies to deploy software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) infrastructures in Pakistan.
Viptela’s SD-WAN platform enables Inbox to “mix and match” private and public IP connections such as MPLS, wireless LTE, broadband and Ethernet to meet each customer’s specific application requirements based on geographic location, topology, bandwidth and application service availability needs.
The platform delivers secure end-to-end network virtualisation in the WAN, while providing enterprise grade routing, security, centralised policy and orchestration capabilities. Viptela enables a robust security foundation for enterprise networks and removes the major challenges associated with cloud migration to IaaS and SaaS.
“The Viptela platform enables Inbox to deploy hybrid WANs that meet both carrier and enterprise network security, agility and performance requirements,” said Amir Khan, CEO of Viptela.
Mir Nasir, CEO of Inbox, added: “Viptela solutions enable carriers and service providers in the telecom sector to deliver virtualised WAN services at a 50% lower cost, with 10x more bandwidth and 5x higher voice and cloud performance than alternatives.”
