Telecom Egypt automates network with IBM

Telecom Egypt chose IBM automation technologies to upgrade its OSS systems across mobile, fixed and core networks to enable the operator to reduce operational costs and minimise the time in finding and fixing network incidents.

The operator will utilise IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps deployed on RedHat OpenShift and also use IBM Robotic Process Automation solutions.

IBM said in a statement, Telecom Egypt will be able to track network operating capacity and service quality across Egypt automatically. Doing so manually would require 18 hours of compiling and revision data.

Telecom Egypt CEO Adel Hamad said: "We are always keen on investing in developing and modernizing our networks to ensure that our customers receive the best communication and information technology services.

"We are happy to work with IBM as our technology partner to improve our networks' operational efficiency, leverage automation capabilities and reduce the time required to monitor and repair incidents, thus improving the quality of services provided to our customers."
