Azercell continues 4G rollout

Azerbaijani operator Azercell expanded its 4G network to reach the city of Nakhchivan as part of its nationwide network modernisation project to blanket the Nakhchivan municipality with 4G by the end of the year.

The operator is moving to switch subscribers to its 4G network through promotional offers where new 4G sim cards will come with 5GB of data for free.

Azercell began expanding its network nationwide in August 2022, during which the company installed 126 new 4G base stations and upgraded over 1,200 existing ones, in regions such as Baku and the Absheron peninsula.

As part of the network expansion plan, Azercell is aiming to install 300 new base stations and upgrade a further 1,600 existing ones.
