CelcomDigi unifies brands under new logo as integration continues

Malaysian operator CelcomDigi has unveiled a new unified corporate logo almost a year after the merger of Celcom and Digi, and says that almost a third of its network will be fully integrated by the end of this year.

Celcom and Digi completed their merger in December 2022 to become CelcomDigi, but have continued to operate and sell mobile services to customers as separate brands. Its fiber broadband business, launched earlier this year, is marketed under the CelcomDigi name.

CelcomDigi is hyping the new logo as “a bold new chapter for our customers” that “builds on our brand spirit– ‘Creating a world inspired by you’ – to embody three fundamental principles: dynamism, passion for customers, and excellence.”

More down to earth, it means a consistent brand across the telco’s various services, said CelcomDigi CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi.

“Efficient integration of our retail touchpoints and channels has enabled us to cross serve Celcom and Digi customers seamlessly,” he said.

According to Bernama, CelcomDigi will spend around RM100 million in the next couple of years to build up its new brand.

Meanwhile, Bernama reports, CelcomDigi is consolidating cellular sites from Celcom and Digi into a single network of 18,000 sites. Idham said CelcomDigi expects to complete 30% of that integration by the end of this year, and 70% by the end of 2024, with the rest finished in 2025.
