Telkomsel expands hyper 5G zones

Indonesian operator Telkomsel announced an expansion of its ‘Hyper 5G’ network in Bali, as part of broader plans to deliver comprehensive 5G across the nation.

In a statement, Telkomsel detailed that the expansion will occur in Denpasar and Badung in Bali. These areas were selected for its ‘hyper upgrade’ due to high internet usage, 5G device adoption, enterprise potential and international roaming usage.

Telkomsel Network Director, Indra Mardiatna, said: “Since launching our 5G network in Indonesia, we have strategically, gradually, and measurably expanded coverage to ensure not just a robust telecommunications network, but also a superior user experience that fosters inclusive and sustainable digital growth.

“In South Bali alone, we’ve established 225 Hyper 5G sites, including additional 67 in Denpasar and 136 in Badung, ensuring contiguous connectivity along busy routes such as Kuta-Canggu, Nusa Dua, and Renon-Sanur.”

Chinese vendor Huawei was Telkomsel’s vendor partner in deploying 1,000 sites across 56 cities and districts nationwide.
