Wataniya Mobile - Ooredoo Group’s operating company in Palestine - has officially launched its operations in Gaza.

The operator will now be able to provide the residents of Gaza with an alternative option for advanced communications services directly through its shops and authorised dealers in the Strip.

Ooredoo Chairman Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani said: “Since 2006, when we announced our intention to grow our business internally, we have worked tirelessly to remove all obstacles that prevented Wataniya Mobile from entering Gaza officially, and we have succeeded. Wataniya Mobile will continue to implement its vision to enrich our customers’ digital life and allow all members of the Palestinian community to enjoy the internet and high-quality voice services.”

Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, Group Chief Executive Officer, Ooredoo, said: “Our goal now is to enable Palestinian youth to enjoy the internet and help them achieve their dreams and aspirations through the services we provide. We are confident that our services will make a difference in a host of areas, including education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and many more.”

Ooredoo has long worked to bring its life-enriching services to Gaza through Wataniya Mobile, a major investor in the Palestinian market. The recent launch of the company's services is expected to enhance competitiveness in the Strip and contribute to its economic growth, enabling young people to acquire knowledge, make decisions and be connected all the time, thereby realising their full potential through communications.
