Brazilian regulator Anatel has confirmed that 15 firms have lodged bids for its 5G spectrum auction ahead of the 27th October deadline.
The regulator named the companies as: Algar Telecom, Brasil Digital Telecomunicacoes, Brisanet, Claro Brasil, Cloud2u, Consorcio 5G Sul, Fly Link, Mega Net, Neko Servicos, NK 108, Sercomtel Telecomunicacoes, Telefonica Brasil, TIM Brasil, VDF Tecnologia and Winity Telecom.
Spectrum in the 700MHz, 2.3GHz and 3.5GHz bands will be made available in the auction alongside 26GHz millimetre wave (mmWave) spectrum. TeleGeography reports that only regional blocks of the 2.3GHz band will be made available, but all other frequencies will be divided into both national and regional holdings, with any unsold national spectrum to be split into regional blocks.
The Special Bidding Commission (Comissao Especial de Licitacao, CEL) will review Anatel’s price recommendations for the auction on 4th November.
