Estonia has opened bidding for the second of the three 3.5GHz licences that it plans to sell at auction.
Last month, Elisa bagged the first licence in the band, leaving Bite Lietuva, Telia and Tele2 in the running for the second, which covers a 130MHz holding across the 3410MHz-3800MHz band.
CommsUpdate notes that the reserve price for the concession is set at EUR1.597 million (US$1.7 million) but the bids are likely to exceed this given that four operators are competing to procure the three available licences.
Indeed, the licence procured by Elisa had the same reserve price, but following 57 rounds of bidding the operator ended up spending EUR7.206 million to procure its licence, demonstrating the extent of the demand.
