Ericsson showcases range of new software, hardware

Ericsson announced new and upgraded software and hardware products that will be showcased at Mobile World Congress Barcelona later this month.

The Swedish vendor revealed its latest solutions at a launch event in London yesterday (February 15), which Developing Telecoms was in attendance.

Ericsson said its next generation of products will be focused on improved performance, sustainability and Open RAN compatibility.

Generative AI will be used in its cognitive software portfolio which it claimed is more optimised in RAN. Other new products include a service orchestration and assurance product, which can be tapped into for network slicing.

Cradlepoint, Ericsson’s cloud connectivity division, signed a deal with waste management digital platform provider SmartSort Technologies to supply it with its S700 multipurpose IoT router. This was designed for AI-powered recycling bins placed in public places such as stadiums, offices and other public venues with waste programmes.

Cradlepoint also launched its X10 5G router for FWA for SMEs, temporary sites and remote workers. The company claimed the router can enable providers to supply connectivity to B2B clients immediately.

Mobile World Congress Barcelona this year will take place between February 26 to 29 at the Fira.
