Orange Liberia: Empowering Rural Liberia Through Digital Inclusion

Jean Marius Yao, CEO of Orange Liberia, discusses the company's ambitious initiative to bridge the digital divide in rural Liberia.

By deploying 128 innovative green communication sites in collaboration with ZTE, Orange has significantly improved network coverage for underserved populations, benefiting over 580,000 rural subscribers through enhanced digital, financial, and energy inclusion services like Orange Money and 2G/4G connectivity.

In the video Yao highlights the critical need for reliable communication services, which have previously hindered socio-economic development, with the ultimate aim of including digital access in every Liberian's life. He also notes that traditional connectivity solutions often result in low ROI, but the innovative Rural EcoSite solution exemplifies how robust networks can transform remote communities. This initiative highlights the importance of collaboration in overcoming infrastructure challenges and advancing digital progress in Liberia.
