Indosat Ooredoo joins TAG to launch IMkas in Indonesia

The telecommunications provider in Indonesia PT Indosat Tbk (Indosat Ooredoo) together with Transaction Artha Gemilang (TAG), a payment services company affiliated with the Salim Group, are proud to launch the expansion of IMkas, the latest server-based electronic money service to cellular users in Indonesia.

IMkas aims to complement Indosat Ooredoo's digital solutions, encourage the adoption of digital payments and increase financial inclusion in Indonesia, said the digital telecommunications company.

By using the IMkas application, users can purchase credit and cellular data packages from various operators, electricity tokens, game vouchers, purchase insurance for mobile phones, vehicles, and life insurance, payment of water bills, BPJS contributions, transactions via QRIS, remittances between users and other forms of financial transactions.

IMkas users can also invest in gold using the IMkas application. The IMkas application comes in the form of a mobile application that can be downloaded on the Google PlayStore and Apple Store.

In addition, IMkas is also integrated with Indosat Ooredoo's digital ecosystem services, made available to users through the myIM3 application. It is easy for users to buy Indosat Ooredoo products in airtime credit or mobile data packages directly on the myIM3 application using their IMkas mobile money.

Chief Commercial Officer of Indosat Ooredoo, Ritesh Kumar Singh, said “There are 62.3 million Indosat Ooredoo mobile subscribers, almost 70% of whom are 4G data users who continue to stay online every day. To meet the digital lifestyle needs of our customers, we provide reliable internet connections and simple, transparent, and relevant digital services and products for them, including MSMEs. But through IMkas, we would like to extend our support and services to the 275+ million Indonesians."

Ritesh added: "IMkas is a telco agnostic service and Indosat Ooredoo has once again proven that it is committed to supporting the Government's program in increasing financial inclusion in Indonesia, as well as contributing to the economic empowerment of the Indonesian people, including the MSMEs, by encouraging the adoption of digital payments through the use of electronic money. With IMkas, we also want to educate people about the benefits and importance of investment and insurance.”
