Intrinsyc Announces Android RapidRIL Support for ZiiLABS Cellular Platforms

Intrinsyc Software International, a global wireless software solutions provider, demonstrated its latest Android RapidRIL on ZiiLABS’ cellular Development Kit at Mobile World Congress. Intrinsyc’s RapidRIL supports the Infineon XMM cellular module for HSPA connectivity and offers a production ready solution to give ZiiLABS OEMs and ODMs a head start in getting high quality Android devices to market. RapidRIL support for additional cellular modems is expected later this year. The Zii Development Kit provides an advanced cellular platform for creating next-generation Android products.

RapidRIL is a radio interface layer product used to accelerate the development of mobile devices, including smart phones, e-books, tablets, and other wirelessly connected devices. RapidRIL supports all radio technologies up to and including 3G with a roadmap to support 4G. Additionally, the RapidRIL architecture supports multiple control and data channels that can be customized for specific device requirements.
