A new agreement between solutions providers and music labels in Bangladesh will initiate a new wave of mobile content across the country. The new partnership will unite mobile solutions provider Comviva, content provider GTech and music firm Sangeeta.
Milind Pathak, Vice President, South Asia, Comviva said, “Music is one application that has proved to be a major success, with subscribers embracing various music-based services such as Ring Back Tones. We now work with all the leading content providers and are able to provide and manage not only local but also international labels. We also plan to replicate our content management solution in Bangladesh.”
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan, Proprietor, GTech said, “Bangladesh is quickly growing into a mobile powerhouse, with an increasing number of mobile subscribers, there is a massive demand for mobile content. Although full-track downloads and music streaming are set to experience the sharpest growth, Ring Tones and Ring Back Tones are expected to remain the largest revenue generator.”
The partnership is expected to drive the success of ring back tones in Bangladesh. The service is highly popular in India, with over 13 million subscribers. Both handset and SIM independent, ring back tones are available to prepaid, postpaid, fixed and wireless subscribers.
