A new cloud-based mobile portal is being launched by a major Mexican operator. Nextel de Mexico, an NII Holdings service provider, has launched its content storefront services using the Mvolve platform from interface specialist Momac. The platform will enable Nextel to create and manage advanced multi-device mobile portals for 2G and 3G customers.

“There is a huge need for more profitable multiscreen services in both North and South America, and we are pleased to be in a position to extend our technology reach in these regions,” said Momac CEO Sham Careem.

The Mvolve platform allows operators to to build intelligent mobile interfaces across portals and applications, and leverage mobile subscriber data to enhance overall customer engagement. By including features such as self-service, personalised content and social media integration, operators can improve ARPU and customer retention.

The platform will be used to power Nextel Station, a content storefront delivering a selection of multimedia services, as well as Nextel’s operator portal for access to the mobile web.
