Telefonica pushes internal M2M system to Lat Am

Telefonica has extended the availability of its in-house M2M management system to three more Latin American countries.

Argentina, Chile and Mexico now have access to the operator’s Smart M2M Solution, which is already available in Spain and Brazil. The solution is aimed at addressing localised issues, including regional requirements for SIM cards and language support that would not be covered by permanent roaming.

Developed internally with assistance from Ericsson, the solution monitors traffic in real-time, providing information about its type, volume and consumption levels. It also provides advanced diagnostics and connected device maps.

Carlos Morales, director of M2M at Telefónica Digital, said: “Telefonica is aware of the potential of M2M technologies in the support of local business development. With this in mind, we have matched our technical expertise with our local knowledge to offer our customers from Argentina and Chile a flexible platform that provides them with useful tools, giving them a precise view of their business processes.”
