New partnership aims to develop data centres across APAC

Two major names in their fields, LOGOS and Pure Data Centres, are planning to partner in order to develop data centres across the Asia Pacific region.

Pure says it specialises in designing, building and operating hyperscale data centres, anywhere in the world, to the highest industry standards.

LOGOS describes itself as a dynamic and growing logistics specialist with operations across Asia Pacific, including China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and India. It manages every aspect of logistics real estate and has over six million square metres of property owned and under development.

According to the Data Centre Dynamics website, the two companies announced the establishment of the partnership this week. The companies cited what they called “acute undersupply of mission-critical data centre infrastructure” in the region as one of the drivers for the deal.

The companies added in their announcement of the agreement, “LOGOS’ presence in ten markets across APAC offers global and localized resources covering the entire real estate life cycle, coupled with certainty over new land acquisitions in supply-constrained markets. Pure DC brings an established data centre platform and a robust customer network as it services the industry’s most complex technical requirements.”

Pure currently has more than 250MW of IT capacity under development in markets across Europe, Asia, the GCC, and Africa.

In what is presumably a reference to concerns about data centre power use, the companies also said they expect projects developed under this arrangement will help facilitate the rollout of new large-scale renewable power infrastructure in underserved markets.

This isn’t the first alliance between LOGOS and Pure DC. Earlier this year the two companies announced plans to build a new 20,000 square metre data center in Jakarta, Indonesia; it will be ready for customer operation in the first quarter of 2022.
