Dhiraagu said on Monday that it has inaugurated its third data centre in the Maldives – this one being a certified Tier III facility in N. Velidhoo, which also makes it the first to be located in the atolls.

Dhiraagu – which didn’t provide details on the data centre’s size or IT load capacity – said the new facility will enable businesses, including resorts and enterprises operating in the region, to securely host and safeguard their data closer to their operations.

Dhiraagu also said the new data centre will enhance the resilience and efficiency of cloud-based services and critical applications, support business continuity and provide greater convenience for customers across the atolls.

The launch of the N. Velidhoo data centre follows the launch of Dhiraagu’s second data centre in February 2025 in Hulhumalé. That facility is billed by Dhiraagu as the first data centre in the Maldives to be certified Tier IV by the Uptime Institute.
