5G networks are accelerating the digital transformation of society, driving inclusive economic growth and helping to bridge the digital divide.

For many countries, 5G networks are now strategic infrastructure for driving industrial upgrades – but, as they continue to scale, operators are seeing their overall energy consumption rise steadily. In Latin America and across the world, increased demand for electricity - combined with geopolitical tensions and regional conflicts - has further intensified the shortfall in energy supply.

Against this backdrop, building greener and more energy-efficient networks has become a critical challenge that the industry must address. Through continuous technological innovation, ZTE has integrated architectural advancements, in-house developed core components, and intelligent algorithms to create solutions that deliver energy efficiency across all scenarios. This enables operators to achieve efficient 5G network deployment with significantly reduced energy consumption.

Building green, energy-efficient networks requires coordinating more efficient devices, more effective energy-saving site solutions, and more systematic, intelligent overall network energy-saving strategies. ZTE continues to innovate, progressively enhancing energy efficiency at the device, site, and network levels to achieve end-to-end network energy reduction and realize the goal of minimum energy consumption under any load.

As the component with the highest energy consumption ratio in wireless networks, amplifier efficiency is the primary factor affecting network energy consumption. ZTE's Super-N platform overcomes the bottleneck of traditional amplifiers' efficiency declining with varying service loads through innovative hardware architecture and intelligent algorithm collaboration. Based on ETSI model calculations, the Super-N platform reduces daily average power consumption up to 38% compared to the industry average.
