The Israeli ISP infrastructure split will end in March 2022

From March 2022, there will be no Internet Service Provider (ISP) infrastructure breakdown in Israel’s Internet market, and Bezeq Israel Telecommunications Company will be able to sell full Internet packages including both the infrastructure and connectivity options.

The Israeli Ministry of Communications has approved an agreement reached by Bezeq and the country's other ISPs on reforming the broadband market, said a report in Globes.

The Ministry of Communications stated that Bezeq had to reach an agreement with Internet providers on how it would provide them with the Internet until Bezeq could provide its Internet services itself. In Israel, Bezeq can only provide the infrastructure without additional connectivity, unlike the rest of the world.

Since the rise of the Internet in the 1990s, unlike most of the world, Israel has divided the infrastructure and the ISP into two separate services. Communications Minister Yoaz Hendel is correcting this situation to put Israel on a par with the rest of the world.

A letter sent to Bezeq by the government stated that: “During the calibration period, the ministry will examine, among other things, both the operational aspects of the agreement. The quality of the data, their availability, possible gaps between the parties, etc., and the material aspects. Such as material discrimination “It will be clarified that the ministry may extend the calibration period by another three months as long as material discrepancies are discovered.
