Zain KSA, Huawei roll out the first 5G LAN in MENA

Zain KSA and Huawei announced the launch of the Middle East and Norther Africa's first 5G LAN network in the country, as the operator aims to tap into the growing B2B demand for 5G services.

In a press statement, Huawei said Zain is now capable of commercial deployment and "large scale replication" of 5G private networks and bringing new products to the MENA B2B market.

The equipment vendor explained 5G is now a vital component in global ICT infrastructure which accelerates digital transformation for multiple industries. Through 5G LAN, businesses are enabled to simplify their network architecture, efficient deployment, and centralized network operations and maintenance.

Going forward, Zain and Huawei will develop solutions based on scenarios that are relevant to enterprises.

Zain KSA’s CTO Abdulrahman bin Hamad AlMufadda said: "We will focus on exploring the new technology capability, such as 5G LAN, backed by our partnerships with the tech leader Huawei, to achieve our objectives in promoting economic growth and sustainable development, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.”
