Mexico’s MCM Telecom has announced a collaboration with Telia Carrier that will see its customers in Querétaro benefit from Telia Carrier’s number one ranked global backbone, AS1299.
This will provide operators, content providers and enterprises access to local high-speed IP Transit, Cloud Connect, DDOS Mitigation, Ethernet and IP Connect services. MCM provides services exclusively for enterprises, and is currently focused on growing its national fibre backbone to provide fast, reliable, and secure connectivity for its clients.
Querétaro is a critical location for national and international companies in Biotechnology, Aerospace, Automotive, and Information Technologies, and features over 45 industrial parks. It is a hub for new data centre development, with recent investments by KIO, Equinix, Odata, Microsoft, and Ascenty. The continued expansion of infrastructure supports cloud ecosystem operations for thousands of enterprises in Mexico.

We are pleased to be joining forces with Telia Carrier to deliver diverse, secure, scalable and reliable connectivity for enterprise customers concerned about stability of service and reliability,” said Julio Palacios, Global Business Development & Carrier Relations Director, MCM Telecom.
“Telia Carrier is driven to improve local availability to high-speed and vital backbone services via organic growth. Together, both companies will support demand for high transactional, low latency, always-on connectivity, delivered as MEF-certified ethernet, partner qualified direct cloud connections for existing and incoming customers in Querétaro. The enterprise ecosystem will have access to a robust national redundant optical fibre infrastructure, granting entrance into Mexico and taking advantage of Telia Carrier’s global backbone. The joint effort will support Cloud, AI and data protection projects for Mexican and international companies as they expand cloud, hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
