V.tal, an end-to-end digital infrastructure solutions company and owner of the largest neutral fibre optic network in Brazil, and leading technology company Cisco are working together to increase the capacity of V.tal’s multi-tenant fibre-optic neutral network in Brazil.
V.tal is the first end-to-end fibre-optic neutral network company in the Brazilian market, and the owner of the largest infrastructure in the country, with 450,000 kilometres of terrestrial optical fibre connecting more than 2,380 municipalities in Brazil. Working with Cisco and mobile operators, V.tal aims to accelerate the deployment of 5G throughout Brazil, helping to fulfil the country’s ambition to bring high-quality connectivity everywhere.
V.tal’s network is one of the first deployments of shared digital infrastructure, enabling multiple mobile and fixed service providers to cost-effectively share the infrastructure. The fibre-optic neutral network will accelerate time-to-market and allow service providers to focus on generating revenue from new and innovative 5G services.
Cisco says that its converged, automated end-to-end transport architecture with Routed Optical Networking and Segment Routing will make the deployment and management of the fibre-optic network easier and more cost-efficient, as well as increase capacity for V.tal.
It will also provide V.tal the flexibility and agility to add capacity and expand the network as operators’ and their customers’ connectivity demands continue to grow.
