IHS Towers subsidiary IHS Brazil equipped 16 airports in Brazil with connectivity upgrades to enhance coverage and enable operators to provide services in dense travel hubs.
In a statement, IHS Brazil detailed it completed infrastructure upgrades at Palmas - Brigadeiro Lysias Rodrigues and São Luís - Marechal Cunha Machado airports.
It is also working to upgrade Foz do Iguaçu – Cataratas airport and Goiânia – Santa Genoveva airport, with Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) technology, which is expected to be completed in the next few weeks. The airports are owned and managed by CCR Aeroportos.
The airports served more than 16 million customers in 2022 which provided challenges for operators to deliver strong connections for passengers, staff and suppliers.
IHS Brazil commercial and operations director Cassio Futuro said: “We are proud to contribute to better connectivity at Brazilian airports, offering MNOs high-quality infrastructure that will benefit the general public, companies and service providers, resulting in a better passenger experience and increased operating efficiency."
