Digital BSS specialist Qvantel has announced at MWC25 that it has secured a major contract from global digital operator Veon to provide managed services to run BSS operations for Veon digital operators.
Veon Group companies, including Jazz in Pakistan, Banglalink in Bangladesh and Kyivstar in Ukraine, together serve about 160 million connectivity customers and about 100 million monthly active users of Veon’s digital services.
The company’s operations cover countries that are home to more than 7% of the world’s population. Beyond mobile and fixed connectivity, it serves its customers with financial services, entertainment, education, healthcare and enterprise solutions.
Qvantel says that the flexibility of its BSS enables Veon operators to quickly develop, launch and monetise a wide range of digital services.
Qvantel currently provides its digital BSS to Veon’s digital operators. Under the new managed services contract, it will also now provide the operations and support teams to work with Veon teams.
Inanc Cakiroglu, Chief Information Officer, Veon, says: “We have used Qvantel’s digital BSS in our largest operators as it gives us the agility to innovate and grow. Extending our relationship with Qvantel to include end-to-end managed services provides a full stack BSS with strong SLAs which delivers a great partnership.”
Matti Roto, Chairman and CEO of Qvantel adds: “Veon has the agile, digital BSS that is proven to support very large volumes and provides the platform for growth and innovation in a very cost-efficient way. Working directly with the Qvantel BSS experts who manage the systems ensures that Veon digital operators can accelerate transformation and deliver the best digital experiences and services to their customers. We are a long-term partner with Veon and this new managed services contract strengthens our partnership even further.”
