Sri Lankan telco Dialog Axiata said on Friday it has wrapped up a successful trial with Meta to integrate AI into its network to enhance network optimisation and quality of experience (QoE) for its customers.

The trial – which has been conducted over the last two months – leveraged Meta’s Llama AI models to analyse and optimise Dialog's network, ensuring improved call quality, seamless video delivery, and superior user experiences.

Dialog said that by using Meta QoE insights for network optimisation, the trial has demonstrated significant improvements in operational efficiency and user satisfaction.

Dialog CTO Ranga Kariyawasam said the trial “marks a new era of AI-driven network innovation” and demonstrates how AI-powered insights can unlock “unprecedented opportunities” for QoE improvement.

“By partnering with Meta and leveraging advanced AI solutions like Llama, we are optimising our networks and setting new benchmarks for seamless connectivity,” he said in a statement.

Dialog said it will start deploying the AI-powered solution later this month.
