Maritime services boost for China

Communications satellite services provider Intelsat has announced that it is extending its maritime solution offerings in China.

APT Mobile Satcom (APSATCOM), a communication services provider for maritime, aviation, land mobile and satellite broadband internet access in isolated areas, will offer IntelsatOne Flex for Maritime services in China. This system allows partners to integrate high throughput satellites (HTS) into their infrastructure and manage their networks with a reduced capex investment.

The agreement aims to deliver a seamless global maritime network for APSATCOM’s customers, providing better throughput and widened access to broadband services.

Under the multi-year agreement, Intelsat will provide IntelsatOne Flex for Maritime services, interconnection, and backhaul to APSATCOM’s data centres.

The IntelsatOne Flex for Maritime platform is a managed service that offers multi-layered global coverage by leveraging Intelsat Epic NG high-throughput satellites and Intelsat’s global network of wide beam satellites.
