Airtel expands cloud services portfolio with Microsoft partnership

Indian market leader Bharti Airtel has launched a new private cloud service and announced a partnership with Microsoft for the firm’s Azure ExpressRoute.

Airtel’s Connexion service will provide direct private connectivity to cloud, while Azure ExpressRoute creates a secure, scalable and seamless private connection between enterprises, cloud service providers, and data centre partners. The Azure ExpressRoute connection does not utilise public internet and offers more reliability, faster speeds, lower latencies and higher security than typical Internet connections.

Together, the services will enable customers to create a private connection between their infrastructure and Azure data centres.

“Connexion is the right choice for service providers and businesses seeking to make their IT infrastructure more agile and flexible. With Connexion we are confident of helping customers seamlessly and more securely connect to Microsoft Azure, by bringing down their network cost substantially and improving performance”, said Ajay Chitkara, Director and CEO – Global Business, Bharti Airtel.
