Apple has reportedly shifted even more to production outside of its main manufacturing hub of China, as the country continues its strict lockdown measures.
According to sources speaking to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the US-based smartphone manufacturer has informed manufacturing partners of its intentions.
Apple already has some manufacturing hubs in India and Vietnam, which automatically puts them as alternatives to China should Apple make the move.
China is currently enforcing lockdowns as part of its strict zero covid policy which has forced factories to power down, affecting supply and demand in China.
Apple declined to comment to WSJ.
Apple recently expanded the manufacturing of its current flagship the iPhone 13 range in India, which was reportedly a move to again, shift away from relying on its China footprint.
