Globe launches phone trade-in programme

Philippines operator Globe Telecom partnered with insurance technology company Bolttech to launch a mobile phone trade-in programme to spur post-paid subscriber upgrades.

In a statement, Singapore-headquartered Bolttech revealed the companies are launching the Gadget Xchange mobile device programme which enables not only device replacements but also repairs across multiple smartphone brands.

The service is for post-paid subscribers and starts at PHP89 per month for entry-level phones and a maximum of PHP499 for top-tier devices, both plans coming with protection for up to two years.

Globe head of consumer mobile business Darius Delgado said: “This offer is another first and exclusive from Globe Postpaid, with the convenience of switching mobile devices, no questions asked. With Gadget Xchange, Globe Postpaid customers no longer have to wait for their contract renewal to change their devices, and they get to easily ensure device protection.”
