Apple will begin selling iPhones manufactured in India and has revealed plans to open four new retail locations in the country.
The Press Trust of India reported that Apple’s new stores will be located in Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai. These will add to the first two stores opened in Mumbai (pictured) and Delhi last year. Previously, Apple relied on third-party retailers and its online store to sell in the Indian market.
The US technology giant will sell its first Indian-manufactured devices from the iPhone 16 range this month. Apple has ramped up its focus on India to compensate for declining market share in China.
Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail, Deirdre O’Brien, said: “We’re thrilled to build our teams as we plan to open more stores in India because we’re inspired by the creativity and passion of our customers across this country.
“We can’t wait for them to have even more opportunities to discover and shop for our amazing products and services, and connect with our extraordinary, knowledgeable team members.”
