According to local news reports in the Gulf region, the leading UAE operator Etisalat has expanded its CloudTalk Meeting platform. It will now enable up to 50 simultaneous participants at any one time.
This follows an earlier announcement when Etisalat offered three months’ free access to the unified communication and collaboration platform.
A large number of businesses and government entities are said to be using the platform to streamline their operations while they work remotely. Indeed, Etisalat expects that the expanded service will be well received by enterprises across the country as they rely more heavily on their remote working capabilities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition to increasing the number of users per session, the platform will now also allow for a moderator to manage meetings. This feature is in addition to the platform’s existing offerings which include HD-quality video and voice conferences, instant messaging, group chats, drawing of schemas and use of a whiteboard.
In January, Etisalat launched the CloudTalk Meeting platform in partnership with US company Ribbon Communications, “to provide customers with a secure, scalable, and cloud-native business communication and collaboration solution”, as an alternative to Skype.
CloudTalk Meeting can be downloaded via Google Play or the App Store, and can be accessed from computers, tablets and smartphones – or by dialling in via a toll-free number.
