Arabsat Partners CETel for Business Continuity Services

Arabsat, a leading satellite services provider in the Middle East, is partnering with CETel to offer customers business continuity services.

The service will be initially offered on the Arabsat -5C satellite, located at 20° East but is expected to be offered on other Arabsat operated satellites in future.

The growing complexity of global communications networks makes continuous availability mandatory for increasing numbers of organisations. In addition to traditional voice and data services, the rapid growth of big data applications for Machine to Machine (M2M), Internet of Things (IoT) and Critical Applications is making continuity services crucial for customer network infrastructure. Few businesses are willing to rely on a single string when it comes to connectivity and communications.

Developing services that reflect the different back-up requirements of each customer and at the same time are cost-efficient, has been the key influencer for the new services. Customers can select different service levels depending on their individual back-up needs, including periods of free-usage.

As opposed to traditional back-up links, the Arabsat-CETel product offers uncontended services at agreed levels for a fraction of the usual service investment. Arabsat and CETel are convinced that organisations with high connectivity requirements will welcome this service to obtain higher security standards for their communications infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to include such an important service into our product and services portfolio. The requests for the provision of reliable and cost effective back-up services are permanently growing. This innovative service enables our customers to enhance their network and connectivity performance, also supporting them to further expand and secure their core businesses”, said Guido Neumann, Managing Director at CETel.

Khalid Balkheyour, President & CEO of Arabsat commented “Arabsat and CETel have always strived to provide high-quality satellite based solutions to their customers. With the ever growing requirements of permanent connectivity, the Business Continuity Solution will increase our customers’ confidence in the services provided by CETel.”

CETel is an independent German provider of global satellite, fiber and wireless enabled communications solutions. Arabsat offers a full spectrum of broadcast, telecommunications and broadband services on one of the youngest satellite fleets in the region. The recent acquisition of Hellas Sat has further expanded Arabsat coverage into areas of southeastern Europe.
