Umniah Jordan has selected Ericsson for an upgrade to its 3G and 4G RAN infrastructure in the face of escalating data demand.

The Bahraini-backed operator chose the vendor for its Ericsson Radio System, which features multi-band and multi-layer technology to respond to shifting demand with flexibility. CommsUpdate notes that Ericsson will also deliver hardware and software as well as system integration, network management, and support.

Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara said: “Through this partnership with Ericsson, we take a new step in meeting the demand for mobile broadband connectivity and services by consumers and enterprises and make our network even more efficient in handling data traffic and ensuring better quality of experience to our customers.”
