Unitel taps Huawei for range of services in Angola

Angolan operator Unitel has signed a three year partnership agreement with Chinese vendor Huawei.

The companies describe the deal as a “complete series solution” that will cover Unitel’s Radio Access Network (RAN) and transmission network, as well as Customer Experience Management (CEM).

According to Unitel, the partnership with Huawei will allow it to “’continuously increase network capacity and coverage, incubate 5G innovation, provide better services and enhance the optimal user experience, while ushering in a new era of green, low-carbon telecommunications.”

The market leading operator’s general manager Miguel Geraldes said: “Unitel is committed to accelerating the digitisation of industry with leading ICT providers to illuminate Angola’s industrial and development.”
