Entel PCS chooses Andrew for cellular network expansion in Chile

Andrew and its representative in Chile, Raylex, have been chosen by Entel PCS to deploy wireless network infrastructure. The overall contract is intended to enhance the already well-subscribed Chilean mobile market.
Andrew and its representative in Chile, Raylex, have signed a broad co-operation agreement with Chilean mobile company Entel PCS to cover Andrew's role in the expansion of the Entel PCS network in that country. The project will expand Entel PCS's cellular telephony network to improve coverage and serve a growing number of users in Chile. The Chilean mobile telephony market is one of the most developed in Latin America, with an average of nearly one phone per inhabitant.
Under the multi-year agreement between the companies, Andrew is designated a principal supplier via Raylex of wireless equipment for deployment in the Entel PCS network, including antennas, coaxial cables, software tools, and repeater solutions for indoor and outdoor use. Andrew and Raylex also will train Entel PCS engineers in Chile and abroad.
According to Sylvio Peres, Andrew's Vice-President of Sales for Latin America, "this agreement represents a step forward in the development of the telecommunications market in Chile and reaffirms the success of the companies' collaboration."
* Raylex, with a presence in the Chilean market for more than 41 years, represents Andrew and distributes Andrew's entire product line in addition to an ample portfolio of services that it offers locally. It also contributes to solutions for engineering, logistics, services and ongoing local support.
