IHS Brazil, part of the IHS Towers group, announced on Wednesday it has signed a new site agreement with TIM S.A. that further extends the two companies’ partnership in the Brazilian market.

According to IHS Brazil, the partnership aims to build up to 3,000 sites with an initial minimum deployment of 500 sites. The sites will be distributed across multiple regions of Brazil.

IHS Brazil said in a statement that it will leverage the updated partnership the company to “continue to deliver innovative ways of building and deploying communications infrastructure, further expanding connectivity across Brazil.”

IHS Brazil has been collaborating with TIM S.A. since 2020.

In 2021, IHS Towers [acquired a 51% stake in FiberCo](https://developingtelecoms.com/telecom-business/operator-news/12333-ihs-towers-takes-majority-holding-in-tim-brasil-s-fiberco.html) Solucoes de Infraestrutura from TIM Brasil for BRL1.096 billion (US$198.9 million). FiberCo was subsequently rebranded as I-Systems and controls TIM’s secondary network infrastructure. A long-term master services arrangement will see TIM remain the anchor tenant for the network.
