ZTE to Provide Disaster Recovery Solution to U Mobile in Malaysia

ZTE has been selected by U Mobile Sdn Bhd to provide a disaster recovery (DR) system to strengthen the resilience and robustness of Malaysia’s most dynamic and innovative 3G mobile network.

U Mobile will deploy ZTE’s DR solution in the core network, increasing the backup capabilities of the network infrastructure. The agreement between U Mobile and ZTE was signed today in a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur.

“ZTE is committed to helping U Mobile deliver the best and most robust mobile services to subscribers,” said Fred Zhang, Managing Director of ZTE Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd.

ZTE’s DR solutions will be implemented on U Mobile’s Core Transmission and IPCORE equipment to achieve significant reductions in service recovery times, delivering improved network stability and reliability.

The DR system is expected to be completed within 2014, enhancing U Mobile’s ability to support uninterrupted Internet and mobile services to subscribers. Upon completion of the project, U Mobile will explore subsequent upgrades and purchases depending on the network’s capacity requirement.
