Digi Communications secures €150M loan from bank syndicate

Digi Communications announced it entered a senior facility agreement gaining two loans totaling €150 million from a syndicate of large banks, as the company stated intentions to refinance a previous loan and push investments.

In a statement, Digi Communications said the group of banks includes Citigroup Europe, Dublin Romanian Branch, ING Bank Amsterdam, Bucharest Branch, and Unicredit Bank as original lenders.

The company said €100 million from the senior facility agreement will be used to refinance a loan made in October 2016, with the remaining €50 million to be used for “capital expenditure, investments, general corporate, and working capital purposes.”

Digi Communications has a market presence in Romania and Hungary via its subsidiary RCS & RDS, a provider of pay-TV and telecommunications services. It also provides MVNO services to Romanian communities in Spain and Italy.
