Telia Lithuania loses another court battle

Telia saw its complaint thrown out by Lithuania’s Supreme Administrative Court, ruling rival Bite was not gaining an unfair advantage from acquiring state-owned broadband provider MEZON’s spectrum, CommsUpdate reported.

The complaint was initially dismissed by the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court before being picked up by the higher court, which at the time stated the local court had insufficient justification to dismiss the complaint.

Bite revealed its purchase of MEZON for €20 million in December, in which it gained spectrum, network assets, customers and a sales network after gaining approval from the Communications Regulatory Authority (RRT).

The deal followed Bite's purchase of Telecentras’s internet, data and IPTV operations for €20 million.
