Telecom Argentina secures more loans for network expansion

Telecom Argentina is set to receive agreed loans totalling US$120 million for upgrades to its fibre optic network, and expand mobile coverage and capacity.

BN Americas reported the payment will be made in two parts, first US$100 million and then US$20 million, both mature on June 15, 2027 and are part of US$300 million financing agreement agreed in 2019.

This loan follows Telecom Argentina also gaining final approval from IDB Invest for other two loans. One for US$450 million and another for US$50 million. These loans will be used to fund 4G and 5G infrastructure projects in urban locations within Mendoza, San Juan and Buenos Aires. They will also continue fibre network expansion in the northwest of Argentina.
