IOH taps Netcracker for fibre broadband boost

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) will upgrade its broadband footprint with Netcracker Technology to support expanding demand for its fibre to the home (FTTH) service.

In a statement, IOH said demand for its FTTH service had “grown tenfold” after several expansions of the operator’s fibre coverage.

A memorandum of understanding was signed with US-based Netcracker to seal the deal at MWC Barcelona last week.

Under the agreement, Netcracker will upgrade IOH’s IT infrastructure with its Digital BSS portfolio, which addresses the need of its growing business segments Home Broadband (HBB), Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA) and OTT.

IOH President Director and CEO Vikram Sinha said: “At Indosat, we aspire to become the main driver of the empowerment of Indonesia. Collaborating with Netcracker reflects our shared vision to accelerate the nation’s digital transformation. This partnership will broaden our portfolio and expand our home broadband business, helping us to consistently deliver world-class digital experiences to our customers. We are confident this partnership will set a new milestone in the longstanding collaboration journey between Indosat and Netcracker.”

Netcracker President Sylvain Seignour said: “We are delighted that Indosat has identified Netcracker as its preferred IT supplier of choice as the company adds new lines of business and builds up its presence across different customer segments. Our partnership with the Ooredoo and Hutchison groups is extremely meaningful, and we look forward to helping them reach their goals.”
