Maxis launches Gen AI assistant Mia with AWS for B2B customers

Malaysian operator Maxis has introduced a Gen AI assistant, Mia (Maxis Intelligent Assistant), developed in collaboration with AWS for its B2B subscribers.

Maxis stated that Mia was designed to simplify the customer experience on its Maxis Business Hub (MBH) digital self-service portal by combining conversational AI with intelligent workflow automation.

Built using Amazon’s large language model, Amazon Bedrock, Maxis is among the first enterprises to adopt the technology. Mia operates on AWS’ cloud infrastructure and services.

Users can interact with Mia at any time of day to manage tasks related to their accounts and services through natural, conversational engagement.

Maxis Chief Enterprise Business Officer Prateek Pashine said the operator plans to expand Mia’s functionality and capabilities but did not provide further details.

AWS country manager Pete Murray added: “This is only the beginning, and we look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with Maxis, delivering the very best for their customers leveraging AWS.”
