Dito Telecommunity reaches 15 million subscribers

Philippines-based challenger operator Dito Telecommunity has reached 15 million mobile subscribers, four years after launching commercial services.

Dito CEO Eric Alberto said: “We remain committed to understanding and putting our customers first, challenging the status quo, and expanding our high-speed network with integrity and innovation at the core.”

The operator continues to challenge the longstanding dominance of Globe Telecom and Smart Communications (PLDT), which serve around 60 million and 58 million mobile subscribers, respectively.

Dito also pointed to recognition from analytics firm Opensignal, which awarded it 14 out of 16 titles in the 5G experience category of its April network experience report.

The company said it plans to continue investing in its network in the coming months, though it did not provide further details.
