Telefonica Chile has signed a multi-year managed services agreement with Amdocs as the operator looks to simplify its technology operations and accelerate modernisation under new owner Millicom.
The agreement will see Telefonica Chile use Amdocs' business and operations support systems, alongside AI-driven application management, operations services and software development capabilities.
The companies said the partnership is intended to help Millicom's Chilean operations speed up the rollout of new functionality and respond more quickly to changing customer and business requirements.
Millicom acquired control of Telefonica's Chilean operations earlier this year as part of its wider expansion in Latin America.
Millicom CIO Christophe Eyquem said the agreement would help the company simplify its product portfolio, improve operational efficiency and strengthen service performance following the acquisition.
Amdocs said the deal forms part of Millicom's longer-term modernization strategy in Chile, with automation and AI-driven operations expected to play a role in streamlining its technology environment.
