Orixcom, the Dublin based operator of next generation connectivity and cloud services for the Middle East and Africa, has cut its prices for global connectivity to the UAE by 50%.
The cost of connecting from global hubs worldwide for Orix customers will radically decrease by thousands of dollars per month. The price cut extends across all speeds (1Mb to 1Gb) into MEA’s fastest growing digital and content hub in Equinix DX1-datamena, Dubai, inclusive of the UAE backhaul cost.
As an example, the rate for 100Mb connectivity from global hubs to the UAE currently sits around $7,000 - $10,000 per month. By halving the price across the spectrum of Ethernet bandwidth, Orixcom is dramatically moving the market into a new and exciting phase.
Traditionally the high price of connectivity between international offices and the Middle East has been one of the major barriers to entry facing global companies trying to expand and grow in the region. Orixcom set out to announce revolutionary pricing to overcome these challenges, starting with the launch of $10/Mb business internet earlier in 2014. The introduction of this radical new pricing model for global connectivity moves legacy SDH technology forward to Carrier Ethernet, the widely adopted and growing industry standard.
Andrew Grenville, CEO of Orixcom commented "We have slashed global connectivity prices by 50% in response to our customer’s demands – they’re consistently telling us that the high costs of connectivity are the biggest inhibitor to fast growth in the Middle East. Over the last 2 years there has been a pickup of global companies across Carrier, ISP, Gaming, Media and Broadcast industries deploying equipment and capabilities in region, and we want to radically boost that. Orixcom is all about making it easier for global customers to connect in, out and around the region."
Orixcom is a licensed international carrier of telecoms and cloud services across the Middle East and Africa.
