Vodafone Group has formed a new partner market agreement with Telecom Argentina as part of an effort to strengthen its presence in Latin America.
Under the agreement, Telecom Argentina’s customers will have access to Vodafone’s international products and services through their provider. The operator will also receive strategic business advice from Vodafone Group.
Vodafone has 29 operator partners globally, giving it a presence in 45 countries. Nonetheless, its footprint in Latin America is notably lower than in other regions – before signing this agreement, Vodafone’s only active presence in the continent was via a partner market agreement with Entel in Chile and Peru. The group had previously been active in Argentina and several other Latin America markets through a now-defunct agreement with America Movil.
Telecom Argentina CEO Carlos Moltini said: “Vodafone’s expertise…adds value to the proposals we are planning to deploy in the future”, and noted that the group’s experience would allow Telecom Argentina to “strengthen business strategies” and “offer our customers a wide range of services to a high international standard.”
