A1 Croatia confirms Ericsson as 5G supplier

A1 Croatia will deploy 5G radio and core networks nationwide in partnership with Ericsson.

The operator launched its first commercial 5G services around two weeks ago after obtaining a holding of 5G-ready spectrum in the auction held at the start of this month. 700MHz, 3.5GHz and 26GHz frequencies were available during the auctions.

CommsUpdate noted that A1’s offering uses 700MHz and 3.5GHz spectrum, and is available in the capital of Zagreb along with 20 regional capitals. The operator claims that its network can offer gigabit download speeds.

A1 Croatia has a longstanding relationship with Ericsson, and has used the vendor as a major supplier for 22 years.
