The Patagonian district of Tierra del Fuego will be the site of new manufacturing facilities for the assembly of mobile phones and other wireless devices, following the signing of a letter of intent between distribution specialist Celistics and Cooperative ‘Renacer’.
Under this agreement, Celistics will provide legal, administrative, and financial needs for the development of the project. For its part, the Cooperative will provide the facilities and equipment as well as a team of more than 140 employees who have been operating in the factory as well as those who will be required to meet the appropriate volume of manufacturing production. These facilities will assemble several models of high-end electronic devices.
Headquartered in the southern Argentinean city of Ushuaia, Renacer Cooperative promotes industrial development in the province. The new factory has an area of 70,000 m2 used to establish lines of production, storage and logistics facilities, thereby offering one of the largest production capacities in this region of Argentina.
Production capacity is projected in excess of 3 million units per year. The facility’s upper level will serve educational, cultural and public interest activities. This business venture has received ample support from the state authorities of Tierra del Fuego, from the province's economic programs as well as support from the Bank of Tierra del Fuego.

The Director of Celistics in Argentina stressed the importance of the company's presence in the production sector within the countries it operates in order to expand throughout the region. The agreement is scheduled to be long term with an initial first stage, the agreement could extend over 10 years, with possibility of further renewal for another decade.
