Mobile Word Congress exhibitors announce new products and services

This year many companies GSMA's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona will be launching new products and services. Developing Telecoms provides a round-up.

Airwide Solutions provides mobile messaging infrastructure, applications and services to more than 140 mobile operators worldwide. This year Airwide Solutions will be unveiling the results of some independent research conducted with mobile operators worldwide on their trends and forecasts for the years ahead. Airwide Solutions will also be talking about the innovation of services with a focus on how can to combine the possibilities of the Internet with the mobile network and how to achieve this against the backdrop of new business models such as mobile advertising and the trend towards personalisation. The company will also talk about how we can we protect the mobile network and its users against the threats that we know from the internet.

Blom Aerofilms is a leading pan-European provider of geographic information. Blom owns unique databases of images and develops software applications and services based on this information. At this year's MWC, Blom will be focussing on recent developments in real navigation and BlomURBEX, its online platform to deliver high-resolution oblique and vertical images.

i-mate specialises in the design, development and customisation of Microsoft Windows Mobile powered mobile devices. At Mobile World Congress 2009, i-mate will be launching its most highly anticipated new product to date. I-mate's CEO Jim Morrison will be in attendance.

mBlox, claimed to be the world's largest mobile transaction network, is planning several announcements, including new global trials: "think mobile content and advertising" is the clue. Andrew Bud, Executive Chairman of mBlox and Global Chair of the MEF will be available as a spokesperson on mBlox and other industry announcements at the show.

Mobile Distillery, specialist in software solutions for mobile application production and testing services, will be exhibiting as part of the French pavilion. At the show it will be showcasing the latest technologies to help mobile developers to deal with the problems of device fragmentation and the high costs of development and testing. There will be live demos of its Celsius and Alembic platforms, as well as a demonstration of how to port iPhone applications across to mass-market handsets.

Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT) is involved with integrated wireless technologies, powering the majority of all 3G devices commercially available today. QCT is pioneering new mobile experiences and working with device manufacturers, network operators, infrastructure providers and software developers to bring them to consumers. At MWC this year, QCT will be discussing the next-generation in mobile computing devices powered by Snapdragon, the latest advances in mobile multimedia and embedded 3G technologies in notebooks, and how HSPA+ is driving the migration of PC-based Internet to the mobile space for a next-generation user experience.

QuickPlay Media is a provider of mobile video solutions for companies offering video and TV services over broadband wireless networks. The company's solutions are intended to manage, distribute and monetise mobile TV and video for mobile operators and media companies worldwide. At this year's MWC QuickPlay will announce its latest product release and predictions as well as the results from its latest UK survey.

Syniverse is a provider of technology and business solutions for the global telecommunications industry. At MWC it will be discussing its new global messaging hub and its own roaming figures as well as providing insight into the evolution of roaming as hub models emerge in the market.

Telmap provides mobile mapping, search and LBS solutions. Telmap can provide live, location-aware and real time information to any user while on-the-move. Its technology has been chosen by Vopdacom in Africa. At MWC Telmap will be making a major announcement which "will stand to shape the future landscape in mobile navigation and location-based services."
