Belize Telemedia, the only multi-play carrier in Belize, is preparing to launch the nation’s first joint voicemail system, which will be available to both wireline and mobile subscribers. The new system, provided by Comverse, will replace two legacy systems.

Customers will be able to streamline their messages, receiving their home, work and mobile voicemail in a single inbox which will be accessible over any interface, for example their mobile handset or web portal. The service will also allow for voicemail messages to be converted to email and forwarded to subscribers’ accounts.

Telemedia will also have the capability to run promotional campaigns over multiple mobile channels, such as SMS, MMS and WAP Push. Integrating external content providers and services with the mobile messaging environment will allow subscribers to be the first in Belize to enjoy new kinds of content, promotions, and social networking applications.

The solution will also provide customers the option of using a fax call answering feature. The system will automatically detect a fax signal when the subscriber is receiving a fax, and the fax message will be received and stored in their mailbox. The customer then will be able to print this fax message by accessing their mailbox or a fax machine.

"Telemedia is focused on providing a high standard of service with a rewarding customer experience. We believe that these creative new products and services will help us in achieving that goal,” said Telemedia’s chief operations officer Karen Bevans.
